In today’s laboratory, we conducted a visual test to directly compare the acid resistance of natural barium and other ordinary barium sulfate. The results were clear at a glance!
🔬  Test background
In downstream scenarios such as anti-corrosion coatings and plastic filling, the acid resistance of materials directly determines the product’s service life. This time we selected acid resistant natural barium and paired it with two other common barium sulfates on the market to simulate an acidic environment and compete in acid resistance performance.
🧪  Test site
Three samples were simultaneously dropped with acidic reagents, and the reaction effects showed significant differences:

Other ordinary barium sulfate (Figure 1) → A large amount of foam will be produced rapidly after contacting the acid solution, accompanied by obvious caking, intense acid etching reaction, and completely unqualified acid resistance.

Other ordinary barium sulfate (Figure 2) → corresponding comparison (Figure 1) shows a decrease in foaming volume compared to Type 1, but local flocculation still occurs, and corrosion resistance is still insufficient to cope with harsh acidic conditions.

Acid resistant natural barium (Figure 3) → Only trace bubbles appear, and the powder remains loose and uniform throughout the entire process, without clumping or flocculation, and the acid resistance is directly maximized!
Conclusion: Under the same acidic environment, other ordinary barium sulfate either undergoes severe acid corrosion reaction or has poor corrosion resistance, making it difficult to meet the high requirements for corrosion prevention and filling. Acid resistant natural barium, with its special surface modification treatment, can maintain stable chemical properties in acidic environments, effectively avoiding acid corrosion damage. It can be used as the core raw material for anti-corrosion coatings and also as an invisible shield for plastic parts under acidic conditions.
